Digital output data is formatted as 16bit twos complement and is accessible through either a serial port interface (SPI) (3-wire or 4-wire) or I²C digital interface. It is well suited for car alarm or black box applications. It measures the static acceleration of gravity in tilt-sensing applications, as well as dynamic acceleration resulting from motion or shock.
Its high resolution (1024LSB/g) and low noise (150μg/√Hz) enable resolution of inclination changes of as little as 0.1°. A built-in FIFO facilitates using oversampling techniques to improve resolution to as little as 0.025° of inclination. It is used in applications such as car alarms, hill start aid (HSA) systems, electronic parking brakes, data recorders (black boxes).
Measurement range is ±0.5, ±1, ±2, ±4g typical Nonlinearity is ±0.5% typical at (TA = -40°C to +105°C, VS = VDD I/O = 3.3V) Inter axis alignment error is ±0.1 degrees typical at (VS = VDD I/O = 3.3V) RMS noise is 1.5mg rms typical at (TA = -40°C to +105°C, VS = VDD I/O = 3.3V) Supply current is 170mA typical at (TA = -40°C to +105°C, VS = VDD I/O = 3.3V) Operating voltage range from 2V to 3.6V, qualified for automotive application Operating temperature is -40°C to +105°C Package style is 32-lead LFCSP
