It may be the rubber diaphragm, which is an easy fix. Diaphragms are replaceable parts that wear over time.
Often times, when an air pump fails, it's due to the rubber diaphragm wearing a hole, which is caused by the continual vibrations over a period of years. The motors in the air pumps themselves still working great. Replacing the diaphragms breathes new life into your air pump.
Our replacement diaphragms are complete outlet assemblies for easy replacement. If you run several of our air pumps, it's a good idea to have a pair of these on hand in your aquarium toolbox. You'll need 1 outlet assembly per outlet on your air pump.
1 assembly for the single, and 2 for the double outlet models. Before replacing your diaphragms/outlets, check to make sure that your air accessory isn't clogged. The sponge filter or airstone may be clogged.
Ensure they are working correctly before replacing the diaphragm/outlet.
