They are built to be flexible and rugged. The custom-blend, glass-fibre reinforced shaft and heavy-insulated copper wire winding ensure durability and prevent oxidation. The rust-proof brass tunable tip mechanism, rubber o-ring, and 3/8-24 threaded base provide reliable performance.
Each antenna is covered with a static-reducing, water-tight sleeve for protection and longevity, and using a Fire-Flex coaxial cable is recommended for optimal performance.Factory-tested for resonant frequency and quality, FS antennas come in four standard colours. They are ground-plane dependent and require a metallic counterpoise for proper function. They are not suitable for non-metallic vehicles and must be tuned after installation.
