This device has some basic EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) control that operates in two modes via a switch on the front panel. In the STD position, the splitter will use its internal EDID information to set the source input to 1080p, all connected TVs, no matter their resolution capabilities, will only receive 1080p from the input.
