In addition to up-to-date geopolitical boundaries, this globe features over 4,000 named places and points of interest. A feature not found on most kids' globes is the ocean floor topography and identification. This globe features an acrylic sphere, a thick plastic base, and a meridian to hold up for many years.
The LED Illuminated feature built into the globe allows you to turn the globe on and off via an external cord with an inline switch (not shown) which exits the adjoined meridian at the south pole. When the globe is illuminated it enhances the look of the map's cartography, named places, and points of interest. It also serves as a backlight or night light in any room.
